Salvation

All humanity stands in need of salvation, which is only possible through faith in Jesus Christ. Salvation is the transformation of a person’s individual nature and relationship with God as a result of repentance and faith in Jesus. Salvation involves a change in the relationship between God and a person. It also includes personal renewal and transformation through the work of the Holy Spirit.

What Are We Saved From?

Salvation refers to our deliverance from the consequence of sin and therefore involves the removal of sin. (Romans 5:9; 1 Thessalonians 5:9).

Who Does The Saving?

Only Jesus Christ can remove sin and deliver us from sin’s penalty (2 Timothy 1:9; Titus 3:5).

How Does God Save?

In the Christian doctrine of salvation, God has rescued us through Christ (John 3:17). Specifically, it was Jesus’ death on the cross and resurrection that achieved our salvation (Romans 5:10; Ephesians 1:7).

How Do We Receive Salvation?

We are saved by faith. First, we must hear the gospel – the good news of Jesus’ death and resurrection (Ephesians 1:13). Then, we must believe – fully trust the Lord Jesus (Romans 1:16).

The Bible declares that if we confess with our mouth and believe in our heart that Jesus Christ is Lord, then we would be saved. It is a promise and covenant between God and His people.

Did you know that Jesus Christ died on the Cross at Calvary so that you and I might have eternal life? Have you opened up your mouth and declared that Jesus is Lord? Do you believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord?

“…If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11As the Scripture says, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame”

(Romans 10:9 – 11, NIV).

Baptism

When Christians are baptized, they fulfill the command of Jesus (Matthew 28:19-20), are submerged in water to identify with the death of Jesus, and rise out of the water to identify with His resurrection.

Romans 6:1-10; Colossians 2:12; 2 Corinthians 5:17

This identification with the death burial and resurrection through baptism testifies to the fact that we believe, by faith, that Jesus dies for our sins, was buried, rose three days later, and now is alive and Lord over all of creation.

Baptism Schedule

We will periodically schedule baptisms throughout the year. If you would like to be added to our next baptism, please fill out one of the forms below:

Who Should Be Baptized?

If you’ve made a commitment to Jesus, we encourage you to follow Jesus’ command to be baptized as a public profession of your faith in Him.

If you haven’t made a commitment to Jesus, we encourage you to learn more about Salvation HERE. Then after confessing your faith, we invite you to be baptized to make a public confession of your faith. It’s a declaration that the old has gone and the new is here (2 Corinthians 5:17).

What Should I Wear?

*A dark-colored TPHND t-shirt will be provided for you

  • Do wear pants (i.e. sweats, leggings, swim shorts, etc) NO JEANS!
  • Do wear under garments (i.e. underwear, bras, etc)
  • Do wear aqua socks or swim shoes

What to expect?

You’ll see each person about to be baptized talking with one of the church leaders in the pool. They’re answering basic questions such as:

  • “Do you believe that Jesus is the Son of God?”
  • “Do you believe that your sin has separated you from God?”
  • “Have you repented of that sin?”
  • “Do you believe that Jesus died and rose, conquering Satan, sin and death?”

And Then…

  • We say a short prayer as an affirmation of faith.
  • You’re baptized by immersion in water.
