How to Help Elderly through COVID-19

As with any crisis, we’re actively involved and looking for opportunities to help and ways to reach the communities around us. Your giving will help us to do that! Remember people around us need help. Here are some practical ways to help others.
Check-in
A simple telephone call goes a long way! Connect with elderly family members, friends, and neighbors. While young adults prefer text and social media, older adults may welcome a phone call.
Listen
Encourage elderly members to share how they are doing and listen for ways you can help. Some specific ways may include: shopping for them, offering to pick up needed items, or preparing a meal.
Pray
In praying we express our confidence in God who is still in control. Share with others what you are praying for, invite others to pray with you, Offer words of hope and encouragement to those most at risk who may feel alone, anxious, or fearful
Spread love; not the virus
Take necessary precautions to protect you, your family, friends, your neighbors, and especially the elderly who are at a higher risk. Remember to wash your hands, avoid touching your face, and practice social distancing.
